I really like when data is visualized in a non-traditional way. We have seen a lot of Arduino and XPort projects that can visualize data, but not too many are as unique as “Moving Planks”.

The Moving planks project is a collaboration between the 1scale1 and the ITU University of Copenhagen based upon Anna Vallgarda research on composite material. The goal was to visualize sound into wood. The piece consists of ten planks that are individually programmed to react on sound and do so by bending when spoken to and retract if the surroundings are quiet.
