Justin writes – “Alternative processes have always been interesting to me, and I’ve wanted to try the following experiment for a long time (especially after seeing the recipes described on the Shutterbug web site and elsewhere online.) You probably already know that it’s cheap and easy to develop film in your own bathroom, but did you know that you can use washing soda (sodium carbonate) as an activator with a variety of other household substances to make alternative developers? I’m not a chemist so I have no idea how it works, but it’s true. Two of the most common are vitamin C and instant coffee, each of which have their own unique visual characteristics when used as developing agents.” Thanks Paul! – Link.
