Coming home from vacation is always a bit like jumping into cold water, but when there’s a big stack of craft books to look at waiting for you, at least the sun is out! I’ve never been that into the world of amigurumi, but I must say that the patterns in Super-Super Cute Crochet might just win me over. I love Brigitte Read’s use of fluffy yarns to create amazingly soft creatures like a polar bear, arctic fox, and the panda on the cover. (Note to Natalie: there is a pomeranian pattern you will just die for!) She also has a fun take on more traditional-looking amigurumi; after spending three weeks in Australia I’m going to have to make a duck-billed platypus or koala.
