Making prop weapons for 2K: Part 3

We have been chronicling our prop building for 2K’s Evolve video game, and we are down to the last two weapons! We journaled the Lazarus Device and the Harpoon Gun and all the final weapons will be revealed next week!

The Laser Cannon:

All these guns have followed the the same basic building steps. Simply put, Shawn sends the 3d models through his Carvewright CNC, getting basic shapes that he glues together, makes molds and cast lighter, more durable versions of the guns. The Laser Cannon is really impressive in real-life (sorry to tease, but we’ll debut them soon, I promise). It feels like it could do some damage to the big bad monsters you hunt in the game.

He then waves his magic paint brush and makes them look like something, well, out of a sci-fi game!

The Lightning Gun

Who doesn’t want to throw down with a chain-attack, portable Tesla-inspired bug zapper? Sure, this type of gun has show up in a lot of video games, but I never get sick of having using them either. The Assault Class owns this gun, and oh, I think I just found my next cosplay gear:
