This post is coming to you live from Maker Faire Trondheim being held in the town square here in Trondheim, Norway.
One of the big draws at the Trondheim Maker Faire was the jet engine powered car built by the engineering students at Sør-Trøndelag University College. The car has two hand-built jet engines, and has reached speeds of 90 km/h (around 55 mph), although as it suffered engine trouble during the test runs it’s possible that it could be made to go faster.
We talk to Johannes Hatle Lundgaard, the driver of the car, about the build and the reaction of the Trondheim crowds to the car.
The Trondheim Maker Faire is being held in the in the Trondheim town square on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th of August — between 10am and 4pm and is free to attend. There will also be seminars, lectures, and other smaller events at other locations throughout the city.
