In celebration of Labor Day, Danielle Thompson posted several scans of pages from Betty Crocker’s Outdoor Cookbook, a 1961 hardcover, spiral bound book with Tom Funk’s appealing mid-century illustrations, and over 200 recipes suitable for picnics, camping trips, and barbecues. This book, along with other Betty Crocker publications of the same era, became such popular collectors’ items in the last decade that the publisher started printing facsimile editions a few years ago. If you don’t have a copy of the original Betty Crocker’s Outdoor Cookbook, you can buy the facsimile on Amazon for $6.78. It will come in handy for next year’s Labor Day festivities. For now, just head over to the Thompson Family blog and enjoy the scans!
