An LED Beer Pong Table to Rule them All!

Building an appealing beer pong table is an accomplishment by itself.  If you’re not, however, satisfied with a nicely lacquered piece of wood with your team’s logo on it, maybe this LED-powered beer pong table will do the trick.

As seen in the video below, the LED-filled Ping Pong balls can display an amazing array of effects, powered by a PC and a custom LED control board.  It can be set to keep score by sensing what cups are removed, and, as if the LEDs in the middle aren’t enough, it also features color-changing lights under the cups and on the sides.  All of these lights can be set up to pulse with the music you’re listening to.

Finally, this table features an automatic ball-washer, which is quite impressive in itself, and can be seen in the video below.  Even if you don’t plan on making a table with all the features seen here, it could provide inspiration for some cool effects on a simpler version.

The one weakness I could see in this design is that bounce shots would be next to impossible with the raised Ping Pong balls.  On the other hand, if you’re able construct this beautiful monstrosity (88 steps!), you can certainly find a way around this problem!
