Opening up an Eyeclops video magnifier reveals an unusual detail. Apparently the designers thought the included SMD circuit was so unimpressive that an enlarged, printed version was necessary – or maybe they were just really excited about magnification in general? Either way, mounting a standoff directly onto a crystal oscillator is generally not advisable.
