Voice Activated Interactive Puzzle

“One, two, three” are the words this voice activated interactive puzzle wants to hear. As you speak, the voice recognition shield (EasyVR 2.0) picks up the words it recognizes and the lights on the puzzle turn on!

Using this tutorial you’ll use a picture, a piece of cardboard, and the outline of another puzzle to make your own puzzle. For the lights and interactive voice recognition, you’ll need an Arduino Uno, an Easyvr Shield 2.0, a breadboard, a 555 Timer IC Chip, a USB cable, three LED lights, a computer, and a pack of breadboard jumper wires. You’ll make your picture and cardboard the size of the puzzle you’re creating the outline of, and then glue your picture to the cardboard and cut the outlined pieces out with an Exacto knife. The rest is assembling the parts to make the lights and voice recognition shield work. The finished puzzle can act as a great interactive tool for young children learning to count, and it is fun to watch the lights turn on as you speak!
