Antique Doll Head Planters

Craft & Design Gardening

Retired high school art teacher Dolores Duenez makes interesting (and slightly unnerving) planters out of antique doll heads.

A few years ago, I was given a box of unfinished doll heads from a doll maker’s estate sale. I used some of the heads for still-life set ups in the classroom, and the rest I placed in my garden. The following spring, plants were growing from the doll heads. I decided then that doll heads would make strange and interesting planters.

She sells them in her Etsy shop, Plants on the Brain.
