Live from Art Hack Weekend

I’m live at Eyebeam in NYC right now, for Art Hack Weekend, a weekend-long hackathon that’s a collaboration between The Creators Project and Eyebeam. Over 70 people have registered to form teams to work on hacker projects. Some came prepared to join a team, while many have simply paired up with fellow hackers whose projects they thought they could contribute skills towards.

Later this evening, they will present their projects to a panel of judges, and the public will also be allowed to view their creations. Interesting projects include a solenoid-powered candy-shooting PVC gun, an iPhone app challenging people to drop their phones from high altitudes, and a bicycle gear hand-cranked printer.
