Magpie, Boston’s premier hip-handmade craft and gifts store is proud to host an eco-friendly craft fair — Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Recraft! The craft fair will be held on August 18 from 3-7pm, in Union Square is the first of 4 events sponsored as part of The Somerville Arts Council’s “ArtsUnion Marketplace Series.” Magpie and 25 of the coolest and most eco-friendly crafters and artists will be participating with wide range of unique and inventive items for sale such as robots and animals made from recycled bicycle parts, jewelry made from computer parts, art made from beer caps, hip clothing made from repurposed second-hand garments, and so much more! Hands on “re-crafting” tables will hold workshops on how to mke your own disco ball from discarded CDs (sponsored by ARTSomerville/Project MuM) and decorate a reusable grocery bag (sponsored by Magpie).
