Lance writes – “As of Halloween 2004, I’d been working at Nanogen for 6 & 1/2 years. During that time, I’d been collecting the name plates of people who had left the company for one reason or another just in case I could find some practical use for them. Well, my inspiration came that year when it was time to figure out what to be for Halloween. I had seen the movie Troy recently and thought to myself, I think I can make Trojan-style battle armor out of them there name plates. The results were quite nice (please excuse the pasty white man-thighs). It turns out that the costume was a complete success at the annual Nanogen Halloween costume contest/party. During the party, the costume was the center of attention. Several people were compelled to read all the names on the armor and reminisce about colleagues from years past. As a bonus, I received the most votes for best costume and took home the $100 first place prize.” – Link.
