DiResta: Spike’s Cat House

Spike is my new cat. I recently purchased much of the contents from a wood shop closing in Brooklyn. Spike was the shop cat. He came in the deal. He lives in the shop part time, but I figured he need a spot to call his own. Since he lounges around most of the time, he reminds me of a roman emperor: So I made him a Greek/Roman temple.

Because I use mostly scrap wood, I liked the unpainted look. It fits into the shop nicely. To taper the columns, I used a technique I picked up from YouTuber Izzy Swan. He makes many table-saw jigs.
