Friday night in West Oakland, California designers from across the Bay Area assembled for the Hot Couture 2015. The annual event held at The Crucible is not to be missed, but just in case you did, we have you covered.
Guidance for this year’s designs was direct: designs should take inspiration from the four elements — air, earth, fire, and water.
For those not local, The Crucible is a fixture of the arts scene in Oakland. Founded in 1999 by local sculptor Michael Sturtz, the non-profit offers classes, workspace, and community for members and the community at large.
In the past the Crucible has played host to a variety of events, including previous Hot Couture shows, a Maker Faire Town Hall, a field trip for Maker Camp 2013, numerous Fire Art shows, and they even find time to make it out to Maker Faire Bay Area.
