Saturday June 7th, at the Science Factory Children’s Museum and Exploration Dome in Eugene Oregon, you can find the Eugene Mini Maker Faire. Entry is $6 at the door, or $3 if you happen to be a Science Factory member already. This will be the third year that this Mini Maker Faire has happened, and by all accounts, it should easily be the best.
Here are a few things to look forward to:
- NextStep Recycling will manage a “take-apart table,” where visitors will be able to open up computers and other electronics to see what’s inside. As we take apart these old devices and sort the components, we’ll highlight the importance of keeping hazardous materials out of the waste stream.
- Eugene Weavers Guild will have examples of their members’ award-winning projects and will provide 5-minute “Weavette” activities to let visitors try their hand at simple weaving projects.
- LagerBot, the beverage-dispensing robot, will be back! The prototype made its first public appearance at our Faire last year, and after successful stints in Portland and other area events, it will be fully operational and dispensing delicious root beer for guests to enjoy!
