MF15NY_Badge1We’re less than two months away from the 6th annual Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, which takes place in America’s largest city: World Maker Faire New York.

And that means now is your opportunity to join the Maker Faire Street Team!

Whether you’re attending an event or passing by a vibrant shop in your neighborhood, help spread the good word in and around the five boroughs of New York City. It’s a fun way to explore your area, meet business owners, and engage your community. And best of all, you’ll earn two adult single-day tickets to World Maker Faire, valued at $90.

Here’s how it works. Fill out this form and we’ll send you a Street Team Kit. The kit comes with a selection of postcards, posters, stickers, buttons, and more. Dispense the goodies in your area, making sure to ask for permission where applicable. Take a picture to earn Street Team cred. When you’re done, submit pictures and stories of your promotional adventures here.

Once we’ve reviewed your hard work, we’ll send you a unique link to your two World Maker Faire New York tickets.

It’s really that simple – and it’s really fun!

You know your neighborhood best, but some places to consider include:

  • Bookstores
  • Cafes
  • Craft and hobby stores
  • Your local makerspace, TechShop, or FabLab
  • Community centers
  • Schools and colleges
  • Artisanal shops
  • Weekend markets
  • Venues of meeting and congregation

If you have a specific place or town in mind, don’t hesitate to let us know.

Obviously, we want to blanket all five boroughs of New York City, and cities and towns in the surrounding metro area. Some highlight neighborhoods include Astoria, Forest Hills, Park Slope, Williamsburg, Bushwick, St. George, Pelham Bay, Mott Haven, the Lower East Side, and Harlem, but also places like NYU, Pratt, Parsons, and the School of Visual Arts. Sign up for the town, neighborhood, or sites near you before someone else does.

The deadline to sign up and join the Street Team is Friday, August 21.

So when you’re ready, sign up here, and the Street Team will be in touch. Good luck and have fun out there spreading the word — and thank you!
