MAKE Flickr Bennieleeus posted up his how to on making clocks from guitars – “All eight guitar clocks are hung on a back bracket that supports a lamp bulb to light up the clock face and cast halo illumination on the wall at night. The lamp is turn on via the volume knob. The neck has real frets. I wanted strings since I went to the bother of installing real tuning knobs. I tried running the strings over the face of the clock, but just didn’t look right. So I ran the strings down to the base of the neck and ended there. The strings are stainless steel wire ran through to the back of the neck and looped back through to the front and on up to the tuner. One length of wire counts for two strings. Over time when the wire sags a little you just give a little turn straighten it out “ – Link.
