If you’ve never been to Maker Faire, then you can at least get a taste of some of what goes on there at FORA.tv’s Maker Faire channel. Videos of the Center Stage presentations from the 2011 Bay Area event are now available there. Here are some of my favorites:
Adam Savage (above, of Mythbusters fame) has an inspiring talk about, well, inspiration. (He’s such a fun speaker!)
Garth Johnson has a hugely entertaining look at one of his favorite events, The Great Kinetic Sculpture Race.
Saul Griffith talks about Howtoons, an awesome series of comics that teaches kids (and adults) about making, science, history and self-reliance.
Mike Rowe (of Dirty Jobs fame) talks about some research he’s doing for a potential TV show about making things.
