Dan Overholt is making snazzy microcontroller devices over at UC Santa Barbara. Using his C.R.E.A.T.E USB interface, he’s made a musical interface that uses accelerometers to make a ping-pong ball on a spring make experimental music.
Using his friendly little circuit board and a bluetooth transmitter, Dan has also put together a geodesic ball that works as an interface in a virtual world.
While you’re checking out Dan’s website, you’ve got to see some of his other projects including his interface for translating wipe board drawings into music. Dan does a great job documenting his projects on video. Make sure to scroll down when exploring his websites for the video links! Previous entry about the C.R.E.A.T.E USB interface
