Maker Camp Blasts off with NASA Field Trip

It’s field trip Friday today on Maker Camp and we’re headed to space. Well, almost.

NASA Ames Research Center‘s SpaceShop will be sharing what they’re up to, such as efforts to colonize space and make living on another planet an actual possibility. And we’ll learn how they test and evaluate carbon fiber on spaceships for re-entry into the atmosphere.

We’ll also be joined by Cristin Dorgelo from The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Jenn Gustetic from NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. They will tell us about the Asteroid Grand Challenge, an effort to find all asteroid threats to human population and know what to do about them.

The voyage starts at 11am PDT right here on Google+! Be sure to check out the Maker Camp community page on Google+ for more inspiration.
