Just in time for Mother’s Day, the Gallery at Lillstreet Art Center (4401 North Ravenswood) in Chicago will offer a special art sale with 10=20% off all jewelry and ceramics Friday, May 4 to Sunday, May 13. The Mother’s Day Sale will kick-off with an Open Studio Night on May 4 from 6 to 9 p.m, featuring a ‘Vase and Vessel Auction,’ highlighting pieces created by Lillstreet artists and students. All proceeds will benefit Artreach, a non-profit institution dedicated to providing low-cost and free arts education to the greater Chicago community. Mother’s Day Weekend Workshops will be offered May 12 and 13, giving you some good craft time to spend time with mom. Jewelry expert Scott David Plumlee will teach the art of creating Chainmaille, a type of delicate mesh jewelry composed of small metal rings and coils linked together to form an array of patterns.
