Our 7th annual Maker Faire Bay Area, taking place in a mere 10 days on May 19 and 20 at the San Mateo Fairgrounds, is going to be our biggest Faire yet, with over 700 makers. We’ve filled every nook and cranny of the massive fairgrounds with the amazing inventiveness and inspiration of the maker community. Sounds cliché, but it’s totally true: you won’t want to miss this!
Early-bird tickets are still available until midnight PST tomorrow night, May 9. You can get a full adult weekend pass for $40 (students 13–21, $20; youth 4–12, $15) , or a single-day adult ticket for $22 (student, $12; youth, $8). The Faire is open on Saturday the 19th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday the 20th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. That’s a lot of entertainment, education, hands-on activities, and inspiration for not a lot of cash. Prices go up on May 10, so head over to the Maker Faire site for all the information you need, pick up your tickets today, and come play with us!
Wondering who that is in the photo above? Russell the Electric Giraffe, of course. He’s 16 feet tall, robotic, has a booming sound system, and is one of our favorite Maker Faire attendees. You never know who you’ll meet at Maker Faire.
