There’s been a truly impressive amount of stop-motion flying around the interwebs lately. I’m always awed by the amount of time and energy it takes to create something in this medium, not to mention the playful and often powerful effect of going frame-by-frame. Now that there’s an abundance of stop-motion software, and even a new iPhone app, StopMotion Recorder, perhaps we can all contribute. In the meantime, here are some recent notables that caught my attention:
Bowerbirds “In Our Talons” from Alan Poon on Vimeo.
BIG BANG BIG BOOM – the new wall-painted animation by BLU from blu on Vimeo.
And you’ll have to forgive me for squeaking this one in, it’s not stop-motion, but it is composed from stills! (And it makes my heart happy.)
This is Japan! from Eric Testroete on Vimeo.
