Hi Crafters! I’m excited to announce we have a new CRAFT blogger, Rachel Hobson, an Austin crafter joining us for the next few months here on CRAFT to blog all things crafty for Maker Faire Austin! You probably already know Rachel from her fabulous blog, Average Jane Crafter. Here’s a bit more about Rachel in her own words.
About Rachel Hobson:
I am a self-professed blog addict. When I’m not wrangling my two kids, managing my freelance web design business or embroidering something, I’m reading any and every craft and sewing blog I can get my keyboard on, and writing my own blog, Average Jane Crafter. I was a contributor to BurdaStyle.com for the Sewing Universe News Feed for just shy of a year, and I loved that opportunity to combine my background in journalism with my affinity for all things sewing-related.
I live in Austin, Texas and am a studio assistant in a fun, funky south Austin sewing studio called The Stitch Lab. I love connecting with other Austin crafters, and am constantly amazed by the diverse, exciting pool of talent right here in Central Texas. I can’t wait to share that with Craftzine.com readers. Maker Faire was a highlight of last year’s craft scene in Austin, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to let folks in on the crafty happenings of this year’s Maker Faire.
