Make a Quick Garden Apron From Upcycled Jeans

jeans-garden-apron-1

If you’re just itching to get back into the garden, and need an appropriate apron in a hurry, then go ahead and grab an old pair of jeans and a pair of scissors and make yourself a quick garden apron with this handy video from CHOW.com!

It might help to use an old pair of jeans that are a little too big, so that your apron will fit easily over your clothes. Otherwise you can always just put a belt through the loops or make some quick alterations so that you can garden in utilitarian comfort!

I made these last month…..took one minute such a brilliant idea. Have since added animal print bias binding. Now on the lookout for more jeans to cut up!

Good idea on adding bias binding. I have about 10 old jeans-tops around, and most don’t fit me for use as aprons, but spiffing ’em up would make ’em nice enough to give away to friends!

Save the legs, too: They can be cut to size, sewn closed on one end, and used for bags for things like tent stakes. Turn over the top edge about 1″ and sew, leaving one end open, and you have a drawstring casing. :-)
