Nat @ CRAFT writes – “Today, March 14th is officially Pi Day! Pi, is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Pi = 3.1415926535… Pi Day is celebrated by math enthusiasts (and crafters too!) around the world on March 14th”. Pictured above are hand embroidered Pi patches by pillowhead on Etsy as seen in the CRAFT Flickr pool – Link.

Using an European date format, the date in question is 13.3.2008. Hard to see any relation to pi there. Is there any point to Pi day?
@jh – i ask myself the same question about every celebrated day.
