One Response to How cranes are erected

  1. He helped build the “Green Neon” buildings in San Diego* using one of the self-erecting cranes.

He said it was the scariest, but most exciting job he’s had. I don’t know if they do it anymore (safety reasons), but he’d be sitting in the cab, at the top, while it would add more layers.

The whole process is a crazy feat of engineering.

*If you’ve ever seen the skyline at night, you know exactly which buildings I’m talking about.
