A Hunger Games Pie

As an adult, it can be difficult to admit that you thoroughly enjoyed a “young adult” book or movie. Fortunately for us, Youtuber “Koalipops” has no such reservation, and has, in fact, provided the world with an intriguing idea for how to make a Hunger Games pie. The results look incredible, though if you want a lot of top crust, you’ll have to be strategic about your piece selection!

The recipe for this pie is quite simple. All you’ll need is premade pie crust, shortbread cookie dough, and filling. You can also use gold color mist, which, According to Koalipops, is “like spray paint for your food.” Bird parts and the arrow are cut out using the stencil found here.

Once you’re done cutting the stencils out, Place pie crust in the pan, put the filling in, then assemble Mockingjay pieces on top. I personally didn’t realize making a pie could be so simple; something to keep in mind for the next time I need to make a desert.

Although interesting in itself, this technique could be used for anything. If you’re not a fan of the Hunger Games, maybe you could make one for your favorite sports team, or, sticking with the movie idea, maybe a Terminator Skeleton. The possibilities are endless.
