Hoover Releases 3D Printed Accessories Files

Hoover, a company once so synonymous with vacuum cleaners that using any vacuum was known as “Hoovering”, has announced a partnership with Makerbot to release accessories for their vacuums on the popular design sharing site, Thingiverse. Their collection currently includes flashlight mounts, battery holders, and miniature classic models.

We have now seen a few companies adopting 3D printing and putting accessories for their products on sites like Thingiverse. Nokia was one of the first when they released cases for their Lumia line of phones. Hopefully, in 2015 we will see this trend grow with more companies embracing 3D printing technology as a way to reach out to their customers and create a higher value for their products.
