Handmade Detroit did this awesome video review of the Yudu screen printing machine. It has a hefty pricetag, but this video review has even me convinced that it it might be worth it. Via Core77.

looks like so much work!
Oh! I want I want I want!
to me this doesn’t seem to be any easier than using a regular screen that’s about that size, and it’s definitely more expensive.
The idea is nice, but the design of the machine seems kinda cheap. The sticky platen is a ridiculous waste; eight bucks for only a few uses? I don’t think so. Two emulsion sheets for twenty dollars? Bite me. Not even worth the $300 price tag!
There is a screen printing walkthrough for $67 on diyTeeShirts.com that has way better instruction and even includes plans and a video tutorial how to build your own machine. When it’s built, it blows the doors off the Yudu machine. It also doesn’t pretend you have to spend millions of dollars on a few ounces of ink.
For the price of a yudu, you can make your own with supplies from Home Depot! I actually did it myself (for less than $150)! The cost of the Yudu is quite expensive when you can do it yourself with real materials and inks.
I have plans on how to make one if anyone wants to give it a try!
Please post up a link to the plans! =]
