For the holidays, I bought my wife a gift certificate for NYCPeach to bling out her Motorola MPX-220. I am pretty sure this is the first one NYCPeach has Swarovski cyrstalized, usually they do SideKicks and iPods. We worked with them over the phone, sent it off a couple weeks ago, and here are the pictures– in all its iced out glory. I still want to make my own version.

Last weekend I attended the EFF’s (Electronic Frontier Foundation) "build-in" against the forthcoming broadcast flag, the group built High Definition Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) using the open source MythTV from the KnoppMyth Linux distribution and the pcHDTV HD-3000 HD card, which will only be legal to buy up until July of 2005. I’m writing about all this for the next issue, but here some pictures I took.

I love the inspiring new mobile that artist Lisa Congdon made from her scissors collection. It’s currently on display in her shop, Rare Device, so stop by if you live in SF to check it out in person. Link.
David Petrides writes in about Charlotte of “Earrings 101” and her vintage resistor earrings, made into the stamen of flowers, terminated with Swarovski crystals. More subtle than the resistor earrings I’ve seen before, these would make a great addition to any classy electronics lady’s collection. – Link.
