    That sounds nothing like the crickets we have round here, and I could see it getting very annoying very quickly.

    And one last thing, Americans take note, it’s soldering with an ‘l’ in it, god knows why you all seem to think it’s silent.

    I think there are clearly two pronunciations of the word ‘solder’. I’ve been pronouncing it with a silent ‘l’ for over 30 years. Check dictionary.com, Websters or any standard dictionary. /ˈsÉ’dÉ™r/ [sod-er]. NOT sol-der.
