Banner Book Vampireknits

Even if you aren’t a Twilight fan or watch “True Blood”, you’ll love the edgy and stylish knitting patterns in Vampire Knits by Genevive Miller. The book features 27 knitting projects featuring cozy caplets, sweaters, shrugs, arm warmers, scarves, socks, and more. I am particularly drawn to some of the beautiful cable knits like the arm warmers and neck warmers, cleverly titled “Pulse Protectors” (shown bottom left) and the Belissima mittens inspired by Bella of Twilight (shown bottom right). The cover project is the Lore Hoodie by Cirilia Rose of Berroco who was inspired by her long winter walks she took in between devouring Twilight and episodes of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. The hoodie is a perfect sweater project for fall and I love the beautiful lace pattern in the lower half of the sweater. In fact, most of the projects in this book are a perfect for “back to fall/winter” knitting. Looking all all the gorgeous photos, you’ll just want to pick up your needles and knit! Find out more about the book on the Vampire Knits blog where you can also print a free pattern for the Tourniquet Scarf.

  1. I would LOVE to try to recreate such feminine and classic pieces!!
Thank you for the chance to do so.
    Michele

  2. I would love to use this book for some gifts for folks for the holidays and some things for myself…patterns look beautiful! Pick me…Pick me!

  3. I am definitely the target audience for this book – Buffy and Angel are my all-time favorite tv shows, and I fell in love with Twilight… after rereading the Twilight books, I moved on to fanfic :)
The cape on the cover is so lovely, I don’t usually wear hoods, but this one is divine. I’d love to win the book, thanks!

  4. I would love to start some cable projects and from the examples shown this looks like the books for me!

  5. No really! I live in Port Angeles about a half-hour drive from Forks. The classic styles are just the kind of projects I love.

  6. I would LOVE this book, because my sister is a vampire. She is also a knitter! This would be a great Winter Solstice present for her :) Plus I love knitting cables…maybe I could make her something small from the book to gift with it? Those gloves look awesome!

  7. I’d love to have this book. I’ve been entering every drawing I can find for it. Nothing yet. But I’m hoping this time will be different!

  8. I’m a Twihard and a new Buffy fan (just finished watching the whole series – only took me a month). I love all these references to vampires these days. I can just imagine the patterns in this book – warm, comfortable, stylish with an edgy, rich colors (brown, green, amber), cool. Want. so. bad.

  9. I’ve really been thinking about getting into knitting and this would be perfect for me to start with! I love vampires and the Twilight series. It’s like me as a knitting book! lol

  10. The question is why DON’T I need this? I heart Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Buffy, Twilight, Ann Rice and any other undead-related story I can get my hands on!

  11. This book looks amazing! Even without the “vampire” title, these projects look like they will be super fun to make and expand my knitting skills!

  12. Such a lovely collection of knits for the fall/winter months. Many of the projects can be used in a multitude of styles. Some more provocative for the seductress; some more demure for the young girls. Brilliant!

  13. Would loooove this book- the patterns show are beautiful and I am new to knitting, so it would be great to have a book with such beautiful projects to expand my skillz! :-)

  14. I would LOVE to make the Lore Hoodie on the cover! Hmm, might just have to go and buy the book now! :)

  15. My daughter is a vampire fanatic! Oh my! I am trying to get started knitting again and need some new books to inspire me and help me get on my feet again. I could use a refresher course!

  16. i’d love to have this book because the pictures of the projects look right up my alley. i’m also wanting to teach a knitting course for the alternative knitting crowd, and this book should give me a few ideas on what to include.

  17. I really want this book to knit Christmas gifts. The designs are versatile and I would have so much fun knitting them while knowing they were edgy! Nobody would be the wiser and I’d be very entertained!

  18. Love to have it just to be able to knit such gorgeous pieces, and just by the cover I’m inspired to pick up knitting needles again. Not to mention I could always work on my cabling!

  19. I have three reasons I NEED this book.
My daughter is borderline obsessed with Twilight.
I’m hoping this book inspires my daughter to learn to knit
    The designs are BEAUTIFUL!!!
    Please choose me.

  20. My wife is taking up knitting and is an avid Twilight fan. I’m hoping I could win it and it would come in time for her birthday at the end of the month.

  21. I’m a huge knitter and fan of most things vampire: True Blood, Buffy, Angel, Twilight (the books), Vampire Diaries, Bram Stoker’s Dracula… and I live in Pennsylvania, which is currently in full-on Autumn. I’m heading straight into gift knitting and this would be a perfect gift to reward myself with once the holidays are through. Also, I tend to love Cirilla’s designs — neeeeed that cardigan!

  22. i would love a chance to win this book for 2 reasons!
    1. i <3 true blood
    2. there are 27 projects, and 27 is my favorite number!

  23. I would love this book because the designs look so cozy and stylish! Plus, I would love to make a warm scarf for my Buffy & Angel loving bf.

  24. I <3 vampires & I <3 knitting, not necessarily in that order, and would LOVE this book! Pleaser enter me in the contest ;)

  25. I would love a copy of this book cause of the beautiful patterns! I’m sure they would be super fun to knit!!!

  26. I don’t have the patience for knitting, but my Mom does! I would like for her to have this pattern book so she could knit me the sweater on the cover. :-)

  27. When I am not feasting on unsuspecting humans for a blood meal, I find that I am really rather chilly, icy even. To bring warmth to my otherwise icy flesh, I knit. The prospect of a long cable knit cape to warm my skin and hide my preternatural eyes from my would be victims sounds heavenly. The Pulse Protectors would hide my lack of a pulse from those who would notice that I am one of the undead. Knitting all night until the sun comes up…. All that would be left is an undead Darcy and I would be set.

  28. because the patterns look amazing and so inspiring (and so warm) for the winter season coming up ^.^

  29. I would love to win this book. First reason: the title. How could I not want a knitting book with such a title? Second: the projects. All of them look likely winners, which even for the best knitting books, is hard to do; there’s always one or two not to taste. But not in this book, because of reason three: the ones less suitable for me would be perfect for friends and relatives. In fact, I’ve got it all planned out, as to who will get which project. So all you have to do is pick me as the winner, and you’ll be making bunches of people happy at once!

  30. Me likey! I just learned how to knit cables last year and am itching to start knitting some wintergear with cables! Especially in those colors, seems like a very inspiring book to me!

  31. I’m the uncle to a 10 year old and a 17 year old who are both Twilight fans. I myself have been fascinated by vampires since I was even younger. These days most of my knit and crochet projects are gifts for them. It would be great to make them something unique that they can brag their uncle made them.

  32. I would LOVE this book because I am an avid Twilight fan & knitter who needs to keep her hands extra busy this Fall as I am awaiting the birth of my daughter this coming February! Being pregnant in the Fall and knitting these gorgeous pieces will help distract me from the delightful anxiousness of being a first time mom. A perfect way to spend more dream time with Edward – right??!!!!!

  33. I have this problem. Every time I look at this book at my LYS I end up drooling. They don’t appreciate it very much so it would be sooo cool to get my own and help cure my embarrassing ‘problem’.
There are so many patterns in here that I would love to gift to my family and friends. I already see things my boys would LOVE and I have the yarn picked out and my needles are just waiting for me to begin! click click clack clack (hear that?)
I cannot wait to curl up, watch me some awesome Vampire movies while knitting along sigh!

  34. Living in northwestern PA, when I saw Bella’s mittens for the first time I coveted them because I am always so cold in the winter! I would love to make a pair for myself, and all my cold mom friends too. ;-)

  35. I am a novice knitter, but I would love the instructions to make such pretty things. :-)

  36. These knits look so soft and comfy…how could they be diabolical, too! I’d love to dive into this book and get my needles going!
    Sarah

  37. Love the cables…just seeing the pictures, this book looks amazing. Warm things to knit in front of the fireplace…what could be more enjoyable? Thanks for a chance to win.

  38. I want even more reason to continue my recent vampire fanaticism! More seriously though, cables and classy styled knits are what I look forward to making out of this book.

  39. Please enter me in this. My birthday is in just a couple of days and it would be a perfect gift to start knitting that sweater pictured on the cover!

  40. My birthday is in just a few days and it would be a perfect gift to be able to start knitting the sweater on the cover of this book! All the projects look great.

  41. The cables are inspiring, and many of the projects look like they would knit up quickly! Would love a copy.

  42. Yay! The perfect project for winter! It’s starting to get cold and I could warm up with these lovely knits.

  43. Have had this book on my wish list since I first heard about it… But in attempts to be fiscally responsible haven’t yet bought it.

  44. I really want this book not b/c it’s vampire-inspired but because the patterns seem to hit the fashion mark by being inspired by current trends yet not so trendy that in a few years they’ll seem unwearable.

  45. I’d love this book.
    Why?
I’m learning to knit, and I think it would be fabulous to try and learn on something that I’d actually wear! And living in the cold prairie tundra of Canada always has me needing warm things to wrap up in!!!

  46. I had been shying away from this book for a little while, I suppose because I don’t really like the message of Twilight (or any vampire romance where becoming a vampire is romanticized), but I just looked through the patterns on Ravelry and discovered that there is a Drusilla-inspired corset, which, um, is just awesome. So sure–count me in! (And I suppose worsted-weight on-trend accessories *are* great for gifts . . .)

  47. I would love this book because I love to knit but am stuck in my own ways. I have been knitting hats and scarves for Christmas presents, but have been using all of the same patterns. This book has such inspiring patterns! Thanks for this chance!

  48. Not only do I love the styles, I need them. We have no money for oil and no money for the book. I’ve been wearing old black ski socks with the heel and toe cut out as arm warmers – seriously cool in it’s own light – but I’d love to make something pretty!

  49. I can hardly believe how many patterns are in that book that I would really want to knit. The photography looks beautiful. And patterns based on vamps? Could there be a more desirable book in print?
    ***Love it, Want it!,,***

  50. I would love to get this book so I could give it as a Christmas present to my sister. She loves to knit, and she loves Twilight. It would be perfect for her!!!!!!

  51. I would like to win this book because I would love to knit some of these edgy projects for my daughter who devoured the “Twilight” books and has watched every movie too.

  52. There are a bunch of patterns that look pretty nifty in there from the preview on Ravelry. I’d love to make them and pass the book on.

  53. we’re so into vampire stuff right now, a book with vampire-y knits would be a perfect match, knitting while watching too!

  54. I can only imagine the things my knitting group can do with it (we knit while watching the vampire diaries/true blood)

  55. I need some patterns to make some gloves, sweaters, hats and scarves for this fall and winter. Cables would be amazing as well! Thanks for the chance! :)

  56. These projects look great and I could use some new knitting patterns! I love the free scarf pattern, and will be working on that this weekend! I could definitely use some gloves to go along with it. :)

  57. SO this book seems amazing! It is where my nerdy love of Vampire novels meets my obsession for anything involving yarn. These patterns look so cute and I can’t wait to make some. Thanks for the opportunity.

  58. I love all the beautiful cables. My niece is a huge, huge Twilight fan, and I think she’d love the mitts and scarf.

  59. I’m a huge twilight fan and I also love the concept! Such a fantastic idea for a pattern book! I would love to knit up one of these lovely inventions while reading Stephenie Meyers!

  60. I am definitely not a fan of Twilight, however I can’t help but adore these lovely and whimsical knits!

  61. First off I love twilight (own every book, have watched every movie and know quite a bit of trivia)
Second I knit, so I have to say this book was made for me!
    My Fingers are crossed.

  62. These knitted pieces look not only cozy but fashionable! I would love to get my hands on this book not only for myself but also for my nieces – they would love to be on the receiving end of the finished pieces!

  63. These knitted pieces look not only cozy but fashionable! I would love to get my hands on this book not only for myself but also for my nieces – they would love to be on the receiving end of the finished pieces!

  64. I’ve been drooling over this book and am so glad that its finally available. I am a huge vampire fan and knitter. So, I think me and this book were a match made in heaven :)

  65. Ah!!!!
I have always wanted to learn to knit! This would be the perfect thing to light a fire under my but!
