This watercolor paintbox Halloween costume tutorial that Kathy Beymer from Merriment Design shared on the DIY Network site is so awesome that I just might have to scrap my own costume plans and make a grownup-sized version of this one instead!

This costume has so much going for it: It looks comfortable and easy to wear, you can add warm layers underneath without ruining the look of the costume (I grew up in Michigan—sometimes we had snow on Halloween!), and you can customize it with your little artist’s favorite colors! Perfect!

Edit: Oops! I originally described this project as no-sew, but there’s definitely a bit of stitching involved. (Sorry about that!) Luckily, it’s still pretty darn awesome and beginner-friendly.
