Building a Mini Bulldozer from Lawnmower Parts

Driving heavy equipment machines is incredibly fun but owning them outright just isn’t in some of our budgets. In that case, perhaps building your own mini machine may be the next best thing, which is what one YouTube user did with his Mini Dozer. Actually, Ryan M built his machine so his seven-month old son could drive it when he got older but what adult could resist the urge to drive it themselves?

Ryan used the hydraulic drive system from this lawnmower for his Mini Dozer transmission system.

Ryan began his build using the hydraulic drive system from on lawnmower and a 12.5hp engine from another as the Mini Dozer’s foundation. He then fleshed-out his build using CAD software to get the size and design just right- as close to a Caterpillar model 22 as possible.

Ryan then went on to fabricate the rest of the build- from the frame to the body, everything including the controls was made entirely by Ryan in his garage.

While Ryan’s Mini Dozer isn’t a full-scale bulldozer, it still has enough power to move snow, earth and almost anything else that gets in its way.
