After signing up for a craft swap, cunning crocheter Melissa Mall discovered that her swap partner was a huge Star Wars fan, so she proceeded to crochet this awesomely appropriate Chewbacca doll that she calls “The Walking Carpet.”

Measuring about 15 inches tall, perhaps the best thing about this imposing crochet project is its fantastic use of fuzzy yarn, which Mall says gets even hairier if you brush it after you’re done.

So, if you’re an intrepid crocheter looking for a furry little co-pilot for yourself or someone special, you can make a “walking carpet” of your own using Mall’s pattern, which is available on her website for a measly five credits, er, I mean, dollars.
