Like I Give a Frock by Michi Girl
I love illustrated books and this one especially since it covers one of my favorite topics, fashion. Like I Give a Frock: Fashion Forecasts and Meaningless Misguidance by Michi Girl and illustrated by Kat Mcleod (published by Chronicle Books) is a humorous and artful look into poking fun at fashion trends and faux paux. The book is filled with fantastic quotes like, “No one looks good in mustard, unless you’re a hot dog.” or “Sometimes I wish I could label myself ‘Hand Wash Only’ for those delicate days.” I find myself wanting to absorb each and every page as I read the cleverly designed text along with the illustrations by Kat Macleod. Some of the illustrations feature some great crafty collages of fabric swatches and beads. This fabric covered book comes complete with a ribbon marker as if it were a secret fashion journal you happened to uncover. Perfect fun Sunday reading!
