Ceramic R2D2

Craft & Design

The treat in my Sunday New York Times this weekend was “Man Cave with a View,” a piece in the Style magazine about the house designed by Alexandre de Betak in Majorca. He worked with local artisans to fill it with gorgeous, hand-crafted touches (like a massive stone slab doorstep, rock shelves, incredible shaped plaster walls, and a three-berth sleeping cave for kids), but my favorite thing is this ceramic R2D2. (Although I really wish it were just a side table and not an ash tray!) I can’t imagine what building a house like this must have cost, but it’s definitely a feast for the eyes.
