I got a little taste of the high life this week at the VIP reception of a new exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art called, “Talk to Me: Design and the Communication between People and Objects.” I saw some crafty projects there that have previously been featured on MAKE, including this life-sized papercraft gumball machine, created by Linda Kostowski and Sascha Pohflepp, as part of their “Export to World” project.

Export to World seeks to comment ironically on the design and production of merchandise in virtual worlds…The final results are paper representations of digital representations of real objects, including all the flaws that copying entails.

There are several other projects in the exhibition that have also been featured on the MAKE blog. The exhibition will run from July 24-November 7, so go check out all the work you’ve been seeing on the internets IRL!
