Opening this Friday at 7pm, and on view until Sunday, March 7th, is the exhibition DADAMACHINIMA at Devotion Gallery in Brooklyn. Curated by Walter Langelaar (WORM, Rotterdam) and presented by Babycastles (Queens, NY), DADAMACHINIMA “explores tactics of emergent gameplay, disrupted modes of interactivity, and brute-force hacks of contemporary (video)game interfaces and environments.” Featuring works by Aram Bartholl, Kaho Abe & Lina Fenequito, JODI, Julian Oliver, and Jeremy Bailey, the opening night will also include performances by Lovid, Radio Shock, Casperelectronics, DUBKNOWDUB and Dan Friel. I’m especially looking forward to the “Augmented Reality” 3D spatial memory game by Julian Oliver (above).
