DIY Mug Design with Porcelain Paint Pen

There’s nothing like a blank canvas, or in this case, a blank mug to showcase your creative flair. I’m loving these simple monster doodles in black porcelain paint. You can get totally wild with this and use lots of color too. Porcelain paint can be found at your local craft and art supply stores. It comes in a handy pen version, as well as small jars for using with a paint brush.

This special paint product is applied to the porcelain dish and baked on to make it permanently adhere to the surface. Be sure to follow all the instructions carefully to get a successful result.

If you’re not so confident with your free hand drawing abilities, this clever little graphite transfer trick will give you a lovely little ghost image to trace with the paint pen.
