A video about the most mathematically perfect way to cut a cake has been making the rounds lately. It’s very informative and worth a watch, if you haven’t seen it already.
Even though the math seems to check out, and the logic behind this method of preserving a cake’s freshness for as long as possible is totally sound, there is a potential oversight this video fails to point out, which is that dental floss is the best way to cut a cake evenly (without cutting yourself!). Luckily, Instructables member amalkham comes to the rescue with this tutorial illustrating the virtues of dental floss cake cutting.
Of course, there is a glaring omission in all this talk of cake cutting efficiency, which is just to eat the whole cake in one piece all at once.
