Blacksmith Upcycles Car Parts into a Beautiful Mirror

Hey,

It’s my project for b-day gift for my girlfriend :)

I make this car-parts mirror in just few days.

I hope You enjoy it like I and my girlfriend do :)

The project inculdes:

– car timing belt pulleys
– car intake valve
– satelite from car differential mechanism
– few fence parts (this twisted rod thing and barrel undernith)

Make Q&A:

What was your inspiration?
– I was inspired by Diresta’s videos and my own imagination.

What did you learn from making this project?
– I improve my welding skills.

What challenges did you come across when building it, and how did you fix them?
– Cracking after welding… Slower cooling did the job.

How long did it take?
– Few days spent in my garage.

Is this an iteration or improvement of someone else’s project?
– It’s only from my mind.

Would you change anything if you were to make it again?
– Maybe hinge screws for something better looking.

I am 27 years old, I was born and live in Poland, I am a computer specialist but my passion is automotive and DIY. At the moment I'm unemployed. I am an organizer and a participant of the race car wrecks (website of my event: www.wrak-race.kkozle.pl). My adventure with DIY started when I was 5-6 years old - already could handle a soldering iron and basic tools. A few years later I became interested in rc model making (rc racing boats), then were bicycles (dirt jumping, freeride, downhill). For a certain time I did not use my skills of fixing and make things. I went back to this when I bought my old Ford from 1992 - my first car. Since I had no money for mechanics I started to fix it by myself - I bought garage, proper tools, welder, etc. It was 8 years ago. Now I have the knowledge of how to build and repair cars, motorcycles and other things. I enjoy spending time in the garage creating things or repairing them. The mirror that I made was a birthday present for my dear girl.
