How-To: Upcycled Baby Clothing Creatures

When my kiddos were babies, I struggled to let go of the first clothes they wore even though they were just simple onesies and pants. As the piles of outgrown clothes grew, we donated many, kept the ones that were really special to us and still had some leftover. I’ve seen a few options for incorporating keepsake baby clothes in craft projects, but I think this one from Alisa Burke might be my favorite.

I have been saving my favorite outfits to cut up and create a whole bunch of abstract and whimsical little creatures to keep in Lucy’s room for future play time and to display as little mementos of her early years. As she continues to grow out of more clothing, I will keep adding more creature to the collection!

See how she pieced them together and embellished them with free motion machine embroidery over on her blog.
