Hurricane Sock Pattern for Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief

My fellow NYC-based CRAFT writers and I are lucky enough to live in neighborhoods that escaped most of the major damage brought on by Hurricane Sandy, but we’re still getting an up-close look at the devastation and destruction that accompanies a storm of this magnitude. Cleanup and rebuilding efforts are only just beginning, and in the coming days, weeks, and months, the generosity of strangers will bring great comfort to many people in New York, New Jersey, and beyond.

Tough times like this often bring out the best in people; I am heartened to see so many of my friends and neighbors offering help and hope to those in need, and I’m especially proud of every crafty gal and guy who is stepping forward to take part. Perfect example: If you’d like to support Hurricane Sandy recovery and get your knit on, Chrissy Gardiner will be donating the proceeds from her hurricane Sock pattern to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for all purchases made through Ravelry until November 30th. (Isn’t the crafting community awesome?!)
