Jayne Vidheecharoen, a grad student at Art Center in California, made this awesome Dumpling Dash memory game:
Dumpling Dash is memory game which uses a tray of dumplings as the controller to serve up a variety of dumplings to an impatient customer. The customer asks for a specific sequence of dumpling types, which the player must remember and serve up in a limited amount of time. I was inspired by the delicious juicy pork dumplings at Din Tai Fung, which I had for the first time this year. The game play is inspired by Simon and existing food service games such as Diner Dash and Creamy Ice.
The dumpling handles themselves are made of a stretchy fabric filled with batting, so they are nice to hold and soft to the touch. The controller works much like a combination lock, rotating the tray aligns with different types of dumplings (pork, chicken, shrimp, crab, and fish). If the player gets the dumpling correct the customer smiles and if the dumpling is incorrect the customer frowns. If the order is fulfilled the player advances to the next level where there is an increased number of dumplings to remember.
