Close encounters of the MAKER kind – “The 3-foot hovering disks developed by two Orange County hobbyists have sparked a wave of ‘flying saucer’ reports to authorities – Several residents have reported sightings to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in recent months. And word has even reached a Canadian UFO researcher who has posted information about the incidents on his website…True enough, these flying saucers aren’t a top-secret military project. But they aren’t being piloted by Martians either. The saucers are made in the garages of Gaylon Murphy and Steve Zingali, who get their kicks shocking people and hope to earn a few bucks hawking their remote-controlled saucers. After all, a few UFO sightings can only be good for business.” Thanks Mark! – Link.

$1000 dollars?! Isn’t that way overpriced considering it’s body is made out of foam board? You can get a 4×8 sheet from homedepot for $10 dollars. Get a motor for $80 and a good batter for $80. I would say you could build these things for under $250 dollars if you had to buy all the parts. Then again these guys are doctors and do need the money…
Wow! They scammed some people real good there. You can get prebuilt models similar to this for $40 with motor and gearbox (http://www.greathobbies.com/products/productinfo.php?prod_id=GWS1085) You can buy a good radio system for $100-250, the $250 model being overkill for this.
