I picked up this laptop bag made from the science section of the New York times from Renga Arts in Sebastopol, CA (near MAKE HQ), the shop specializes in products made from reclaimed and recycled materials (The owner, Sherry works with MAKE on events – this was the first time I checked out her store, it’s great). The pages/now fabric seem coated and pretty sturdy, but eventually take it apart and make another one from other newspapers or old papers – photos & link.

I’d love to know what the fabric feels like…was the newspaper ‘copied’ onto the fabric, or was the fabric somehow made from the newspaper?
I love the idea…it’d be fun to have one made from an article about your kid or your company…
