Calling all NYC crafters! The Artful Bird author Abigal Patner Glassenberg (of While She Naps) is having a free workshop to make this mini-assemblage bird pictured above on Saturday, March 5th from 2-4pm at Handmade Crafternoon at the New York Public Library (Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, Margaret Liebman Berger Forum, Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street). She’s also signing books and having a mini trunk show at Purl Soho (459 Broome Street) earlier in the day from noon to 1pm.
This mini-assemblage bird is an extra project from the book, The Artful Bird: Feathered Friends to Make + Sew (Interweave Press). We all love our crafty birds and this book covers how to make 16 different bird projects from owls to flamingos to swans and more. Learn step-by-step birdmaking techniques as well as valuable tips from Abigail. I love how these projects really help you use up a lot of your scrap fabric, extra craft supplies, and vintage goodies.
If you aren’t in the NY area, you too can make your own mini-assemblage fabric bird by downloading the exclusive PDF below for the bird pattern and instructions.
